iPhone 14 Pro Max — sensor array 0x1800000: Proximity sensor module

High confidenceVerified sourceSMC: silent sensor

On the iPhone 14 Pro Max, 0x1800000 means: Proximity sensor module (internal circuit: sensor, ambient light, controller).

What does this code mean?

SMC “BSC failure” panic: the system management controller (built into the SoC) periodically waits for a response from each mandatory sensor; this code was obtained in the lab by removing the integrated circuit of the proximity module; the path involved runs from the logic board connector to the proximity sensor, the ambient light sensor and the sensor controller. With no response, it forces a restart, which repeats roughly every 3 minutes (≈180 s) as long as the sensor stays silent.

Which part to test first?

Test a known-good front sensors flex; if the panic persists, check the proximity connector on the logic board and the bridging point described in the study.
