iPhone 14 Plus — sensor array 0x500000: Charging port + wireless coil
On the iPhone 14 Plus, 0x500000 means: Charging port + wireless coil (DFRWS test) — or battery according to iFixit.
Sources disagree on this code. Both readings are shown: confirm with a known-good part.
What does this code mean?
SMC “BSC failure” panic: the system management controller (built into the SoC) periodically waits for a response from each mandatory sensor; the value 0x500000 matches, bit for bit, charging port (0x100000) + wireless coil (0x400000), a combination reproduced in the lab; iFixit and iPad Rehab, however, attribute it to the battery. With no response, it forces a restart, which repeats roughly every 3 minutes (≈180 s) as long as the sensor stays silent.
Which part to test first?
Start with the charging port flex and the wireless coil flex (seating, corrosion, known-good parts); if nothing changes, test a known-good battery and measure the battery connector in diode mode.
