iPhone 13 Pro — sensor array 0x1000: Front sensors flex

High confidenceVerified sourceSMC: silent sensor

On the iPhone 13 Pro, 0x1000 means: Front sensors flex (proximity / ambient light).

What does this code mean?

SMC “BSC failure” panic: the system management controller (built into the SoC) periodically waits for a response from each mandatory sensor; here, the front flex sensor (proximity) has stopped responding. With no response, it forces a restart, which repeats roughly every 3 minutes (≈180 s) as long as the sensor stays silent. iFixit cites 0x1800 = charging port (0x800) + front sensors, which puts the front sensors at 0x1000; Repair Wiki and iPad Rehab state it directly.

Which part to test first?

Inspect the front sensors flex (proximity / ambient light) and its connector, then connect a known-good flex to see if the restarts stop; diode mode on the connector if in doubt.
